Today is the eighth National Security Education Day for all in China. In order to implement the overall national security concept, conduct in-depth national security education, and effectively enhance the national security awareness of teachers, students, and employees, the opening ceremony of theuniversity’s “National Security Education for All Citizens” was held on April 14th at the West Square of Gewu Building.
Officer Tong Wanying, Deputy Leader of the Special Police Detachment of Xi'an Public Security Bureau, Yao Wenjing, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President of Xi'an Peihua University, Li Jian, Director of the President's Office, Liu Yu, Minister of the Party Committee Propaganda Department, Cai Liang, Minister of the Party Committee's Study and Work Department, Du Moutao, Minister of the Party Committee's Security Department, Huo Yuanmin, Deputy Minister of the Party Committee's Propaganda Department, Ji Xiaoping, Deputy Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission, Yang Yuan, Secretary of the School Youth League Committee, Zhao Jie, Deputy Dean of Teaching at the School of Humanities and International Education, Professor Ma Yale, the head of the Law Department, and over a thousand people, including Party Committee Secretaries from the second level schools, heads of functional departments, and representatives of teachers and students, attended the opening ceremony.
Yao Wenjing, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President of Xi'an Peihua University, delivered a speech and announced the opening of the “National Security Education for All Citizens”at Xi'an Peihua University. She mentioned that carrying out the “National Security Education for All Citizens” activity is an important measure to cultivate and enhance the sense of responsibility and mission of all citizens to consciously participate in national security, consolidate the mass foundation of national security, and form and gather strong forces to maintain national security. Every teacher and student should always establish the belief that national interests are above all else, and at any time and under any circumstances, we have to place national security above all else.
Yang Yuan, Secretary of theUniversity Youth League Committee, led thousands of students to take the oath of “National Security Education for All Citizens”. During the oath taking process, the students' eyes showed determination and confidence, and their voices were loud and powerful, full of passion and enthusiasm. The swearing scene was extremely shocking, reflecting the determination and demeanor of Peihua students.
In such an atmosphere, every student felt their responsibility and mission, and the students solemnly promised that everyone is responsible for maintaining national security.
The police officers not only taught students prevention techniques, but also taught them emergency measures to take when encountering danger. Through face-to-face display and communication, students were able to deepen their understanding of the techniques.
On site, teachers and students watched the theme exhibition of “National Security Education for All Citizens”. Police officers displayed their equipment, and teachers and students came forward to experience it. This safety education activity has strengthened the awareness of national security among teachers and students, and has made clear the fact that it is incumbent on us to ensure national security.
During the National Security Promotion and Education Month, theuniversity will conduct a series of activities such as special lectures, safety education tours, and themed short video collections to effectively enhance the national security awareness of the entire population, in order to further promote overall national security education and implement it on campus.
Campus safety concerns every teacher and student. National security concerns thousands of households. There is no “outsider” in safeguarding national security. To safeguard national security and interests, we should start from ourselves.
